New Cocktail Launch

Being the creator of world class spirits, it’s only natural that we would put together a delicious cocktail list fit for a king!

Here at The Lakes Distillery, we don’t do things half-heartedly. So whether you’re after delicate or rich, sweet or zingy, smooth or fresh, sparkling or full bodied; our cocktail list combines a gorgeous set of flavours for every occasion. Our very own cocktail connoisseur, Keiron Hall has a dedicated relationship with cocktails, derived from his previous career path before joining our Business Development team. When we suggested the idea of concocting a fresh set of intriguing serves it was only natural that he would like to be involved.

Kieron won bartender of the year in 2014 and North East Mixologist of the Year 2013; he has honed his skills and applied the creative strategy to The Lakes Distillery, masterminding a bespoke selection for The Bistro at The Distillery and The Trout Hotel in Cockermouth. Kieron said “The possibilities with mixology are endless and this has always sparked a great interest within my hobbies and career. The Lakes Distillery’s spirits are of an amazing quality and can be paired with strong products and still hold their own.”

So, which drinks made the list?

The Lakes Clover Club                                                                                                            The Lakes Cumbrian Collins

The Lakes Mint Julep                                                                                                                              The Lakes Old FashionedThe Lakes Gin Fizz                                                                                                                                                  The Lakes Grapefruit and Thyme Spritz

The Lakes Blood & Sand                                                                                                                            The Lakes Bramble

Our brand new cocktail list highlights the versatility of our fantastic spirits, including classic adaptations and signature serves, creating delicious drinks with a difference! Keiron said, “When designing the new cocktail list, I could have created millions, but I think one of my favourites is ‘The Blood and Sand’ cocktail. It shows whisky as a versatile spirit and breaks the barrier of whisky cocktails needing to be strong and boozy.”Cocktails are one of the fastest growing markets within the industry and we want to share our seasonal adaptations with our guests, business partners and clients. The list also celebrates an exciting introduction to our new range, the Lakes Liqueurs, which add a tasty little dash of flavour to many of the new additions! The flavoured liqueurs include The Lakes Sloe Gin and The Lakes Damson Gin, and the brand-new releases; The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur, The Lakes Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur and The Lakes Espresso Vodka Liqueur! We’ve worked extra hard to apply science for the senses, creating delectable aperitifs and digestifs for our guests to aid digestion! The cherry on top of a perfect Bistro dining experience.Don’t forget diners in the Bistro can enjoy a free cocktail every Monday and Tuesday!

We hope to see you soon for a tipple. The Lakes Distillery Team
