Sarah Burgess; one of British Luxury's 50 Most Influential People

We are delighted to reveal that Sarah Burgess has been recognised as one of the 50 Most Influential people in British Luxury.

Our whiskymaker was inducted into the Walpole Power List 2024 at the prestigious ceremony hosted at The Lanesborough Hotel in London last night.

Now in its fifth year, the Walpole Power List celebrates individuals whose creativity, leadership and skill is set to define the direction of the British luxury industry for the coming year.
Sarah's inclusion means she is the third person to have been named in the list with The Lakes, following on from our co-founder Nigel Mills in 2019 and former Lakes' whiskymaker Dhavall Gandhi in 2020, respectively.
Our whiskymaker Sarah Burgess was named on The Walpole Power List 2024

“Sarah has been a breath of fresh air since joining The Lakes in January last year.

“It is rare to find someone so creative, innovative, helpful, and down-to-earth as Sarah. She is elevating quality levels and craft, helping to create new opportunities that will expand The Lakes’ global footprint.”

Steve Gibson, The Lakes Distillery Brand Manager

As the event's official spirits sponsor, we were also bestowed the honour of serving attendees a curated collection of Lakes' cocktails to enjoy as part of the evening's celebrations.
