With flavours created at the intersection of science, art, and nature, our creative approach to whisky making is epitomised in The Lakes Single Malt. Since releasing our first single malt in September 2019, we have showcased our expressions through The Whiskymaker's Reserve and The Whiskymaker's Editions.

A journey through the whisky studio
Pushing boundaries in pursuit of flavour creation, our whisky-making begins and ends in our state-of-the-art Whisky Studio.
With an artistic ethos, it is here that we design the flavour and character of future releases. It is also where our whisky-making team begin a meticulous journey that embraces every intricate detail of the whiskymaking process; to ensure we create, nurture, and develop the flavours we need to blend the final whisky.
From defining the style to constructing the ideal character of the new make spirit, and directing the art of élevage throughout our whisky’s maturation, everything is precisely engineered to make the most flavoursome whisky possible.
Defining a new whisky requires a framework of sorts, but there has to be room within it to play, to follow gut feeling and instinct.
As our first widely-available single malt whisky, The Whiskymaker’s Reserve is an artistic exploration of maturation and blending; of flavour evolution and defining a signature style for The Lakes Single Malt.
Showcasing a complex sherry-led, wood-forward, and flavour-packed character, each release of The Whiskymaker’s Reserve possesses the same distinct DNA. Varying in style, they continue to evolve in keeping with our increasing sherry cask influence and sense of adventure.
