Proud to be a founding member of the English Whisky Guild, we work collaboratively to showcase and protect the quality and diversity of whiskies made in England.

With more than 40 whisky distilleries at various stages of development, the first step for the Guild has been to submit a 'Geographical Indicator' to legally define English whisky and ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Despite 19th century roots, nearly 100 years of production silence mean the story of English whisky is just beginning.

Seeing unprecedented growth as people discover and experience whisky made with incredible flavour diversity and quality, the overarching vision of the Guild is for English whisky to be recognised around the world as a respected choice for whisky drinkers.

Globally, many whisky producing companies have formed organisations to champion their nation’s spirits, including the introduction of regulations to govern the whiskymaking process, ensure safeguarding and high standards.

With the needs of consumers at the forefront, the English Whisky Guild's submission of a 'GI' application supports these shared values, whilst also seeking to establish production standards that will ensure any whisky labelled as ‘English’ is of the highest quality.
