The outstanding natural beauty of the Lake District has forever captivated the most artistic of minds. Wordsworth, Constable, Tennyson, Turner and Ruskin; peerless names globally renowned for their interpretations of this majestic landscape. Like them, we take inspiration from the UNESCO World Heritage Site where we've meticulously built a state of the art whisky distillery within a 160-year-old farmstead on the banks of the River Derwent.
Experience the excitement of a distillery unlike any other, where our whiskymaker’s unique approach comes to life. See ‘behind the scenes’ of the heat, the smell and the finesse of England’s largest award-winning whisky distillery.
Our bistro in set in what was once our farmsteads’ cattle parlour, which makes sense for a kitchen focused on local produce and honest, hearty flavours. With an emphasis on freshness, flavours and simplicity, we aim to showcase the best regional ingredients.
Our warm welcome in a scenic setting extends from a quick coffee with homemade cake or a leisurely lunch to afternoon tea or three-course supper. You can even dine al-fresco in our beautiful courtyard or take advantage of our stunning garden space outside.
The distillery is available for private parties, bespoke group bookings, tastings or tours. Take advantage of our impressive and spacious Boardroom for functions or private events. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Enjoy a special winter warmer fixed price menu at the Bistro at the Distillery this January with 2 courses for £12 and 3 for £15.
Join us for a Lakes whisky-focused celebration of this traditional supper to celebrate the life & works of Robbie Burns.
