By adding a twist to the traditional, layering complementary and contrasting flavours, and integrating personal influences within the recipe, mixologists from world-renowned bars across London have used The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.5 to develop their own delectably delicious takes on the eminent Whisky Cocktail. The result is a series of sophisticated and dramatically different serves, each designed to tell a story through the art of flavour creation, and available to enjoy from 1 June throughout the summer.

A product of experimentation and tradition, this take on the Old Fashioned parades a contemporary twist on the 'original cocktail'.
First, our single malt whisky is infused with bamboo leaves to establish savoury notes before being blending with dry vermouth, homemade miso bitters and a shiso leaf syrup.
To garnish, Flori di Salvia - translates to sage flowers - is sprayed over the glass for further flavour elevation.

Sweet vermouth, dried fig liqueur and liquorice bitters are all combined with The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.5 to enhance the flavour profile of our single malt.
Further elevation is achieved with the garnish, a homemade pearl barley cracker topped with dots of smoked cheese, showcasing distinct flavours and a contrasting texture.

Using five ingredients; The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.5, French apéritif, port, honey, and hops, each of the bartenders selected an ingredient close to their heart and blended them to create this unique serve.
Five bartenders, five flavours, five elements - all working in harmony to create a deliciously beautiful cocktail.

Located in The Berkeley London, an iconic 5-star hotel in Knightsbridge, this bespoke venue has a tale to tell. Every item on its carefully crafted menu, which includes small-batch spirits and classical champagnes, has been selected for its one-of-a-kind character. Carved plasterwork, coral tones and curved edges sets the scene for its guests inside, whilst the alfresco Terrace continues the theme of style and grace.
In keeping with its roots, each of the wooden accents inside the bar has been taken from a singular tree dating on site dating back 400 years to help achieve a timeless interior. Taking inspiration from cask selection and the layering of flavours, The Mad Master blends The Whiksymaker's Reserve No.5 with apricot au de vie, peach hops, citrus bitters, and dried Apricots to achieve a fruit-infused taste.

This cocktail is inspired by the approach of whiskymaking, where master blenders select certain casks and flavours to achieve a particular flavour profile.
Keeping the same structure as a traditional Old Fashioned, whisky, sugars and bitters, apricot eau de vie has been used replicate the sugar element. A blend of peach hops and citrus bitters offers a creative take on the bitters.
To garnish, dried apricots soaked in apricot eau de vie is placed on top of a singular ice block to bring through a fruity aroma.

In a nod to one of the three meticulously-sourced cask types selected to create The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.5, this cocktail uses Oloroso Sherry.
Nori, a dried edible seaweed, has been added for a salty taste and is complemented with acidity from verjus, an unripened grape juice, to help elevate the flavours of the whisky.
Dark sourdough chocolate is grated on top of a singular ice block to garnish, bringing through chocolate notes on the nose.
"I think there's a lot of common things between how we are developing our cocktails, and how The Lakes make their whiskies. It's just an amazing liquid to work with."
