  • Walk-in visits are welcome, subject to availability, but our tours can get very busy and we highly recommend booking in advance.
  • Please, arrive 10-15 minutes before the time of your tour to afford enough time to present your ticket, online voucher, or booking reference to our team.
  • Each adult distillery tour guest will receive a voucher offering up to 20% on purchases made on the day within the distillery shop.
  • Young people between the ages of 10 and 17 are permitted on our Distillery Tour but must always be supervised. Children under the age of 10 (including babies and prams) are not permitted on any tour for health and safety reasons.
  • Under 18s are not permitted on the Single Malt or Whisky & Chocolate Pairing Experiences.
  • If you would like to experience a distillery tour and have children under the age of 10, provided they are accompanied by an adult, they are very welcome in our Bistro and can see the Alpacaly Ever After herd who live on the distillery site. If you plan your visit around 2.30 pm, you can also book an Alpaca meet and greet experience where you can hand-feed the herd.

Parking & access

FREE car parking for up to 90 cars.

FREE coach parking for up to 5 coaches.

The Lakes Distillery has its own bus stop on the Stagecoach x4 route from Workington to Penrith, stopping every 2 hours. Download the schedule here. The nearest local train station is Aspatria, operated by Northern Railway. The nearest mainline train station is Penrith on the west coast mainline. Due to our rural location, we advise pre-booking taxis to and from the distillery prior to your visit. We have good relationships with local taxi firms, please call us if you need a recommendation.

Wheelchair users are welcome. Unfortunately motorised wheelchairs are not permitted on the tour, due to alcohol vapours in the production area. There is a wheelchair lift between floors. Due to a maximum lift size we cannot accommodate motability scooters. A courtesy manual wheelchair is available on request. Please inform us at the time of booking. Carers are welcome for free, please enquire at the time of booking.
