Driving positive change within The Lakes Distillery alone will not deliver the extent of positive change we would like to see.
The smartest way to achieve our ambition is often by coming together, sharing best practice and supporting one another in a partnership where there is a common goal. It is only by having meaningful conversations and taking action that we can build momentum and make a lasting impact.
Stronger together
Responsible consumption
The other element of being a responsible creator is to be a champion of responsible consumption.
We are very much aware that, for some people, the harmful use of alcohol is a major obstacle to their development and personal growth. At The Lakes, our spirits are crafted with meticulous attention to detail and our unrelenting focus on flavour creation means they are designed to create a moment or complement a special occasion. To be enjoyed responsibly.
Our philosophy is to encourage good health and wellbeing through responsible alcohol consumption. By promoting The Drinkaware Trust on our spirit’s packaging, we hope to encourage better alcohol education, helping people to reduce alcohol-related harm and make healthier choices about their drinking.
A collaborative approach
Protecting the environment
Supporting environmentally focused charities and community interest companies, we hope to broaden our scope of influence and achieve a greater impact.
In partnership with The Lake District Foundation, we have been raising funds to support much-needed projects aligned with our ambition to have a positive impact on climate action, improve clean water and sanitation, and enhance life below water and on land in the Lake District National Park.
On 1 February 2022, we launched The Lakes Distillery Water Fund, designed to support community and volunteer-led groups in their efforts to deliver water quality schemes. With five separate grants of £5,000 available, we are excited to be able to support the fantastic work of The Foundation.
Working toward a common goal, we're looking forward to the projects coming to fruition, and for our team to have the opportunity to spend time helping to deliver some of them across the National Park.
