Whiskymaker's Reserve No.4 named Best English Single Malt at World Whiskies Awards

The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.4 has been named the Category Winner for Best English Single Malt (No Age Statement) at the 2022 Icons of Whisky / World Whiskies Awards.

Each year, Whisky Magazine hosts the globally recognised drinks awards to select and celebrate the very best in all internationally recognised styles of spirit drinks.

And we are delighted to announce that The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.4 has been awarded the Best English Single Malt (No Age Statement) in the Rest of World category.

Expert judging is held in two rounds, with round one seeing an expert judging panel – made up of international, leading journalists, specialist drinks retailers and industry experts – taste each whisky before selecting the Category Winners.

Chosen from hundreds of entries from distillers across the globe, being crowned ‘Category Winner’ means The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.4 will now progress in the competition to be compared head-to-head with winners from Japan, Scotland, the US and more, to discover which is judged to be the “World’s Best No-Age Single Malt Whisky”.

On the awards, Christopher Coates, editor of Whisky Magazine, said:

The global whisky industry has taken the challenges of the past few years in stride, and the strength of the entries we’ve received to our Icons awards for 2022 reflects this perfectly. It was no easy task for our panel to choose these Rest of World winners, but I believe we’ve been successful in highlighting some truly iconic whisky heroes.

As always, we have been inspired by each and every one of our Icons nominees. Regardless of where in the world they are located or the part of the industry they work in, it is apparent that all are united by an unrivalled passion for whisky and a shared commitment to excellence in their respective fields.”

The final round of the World Whiskies Awards will be announced at a gala dinner in London on 24 March.
