World Gin Day is a global celebration of all things gin which is usually held on the second Saturday in June. Whilst this year we, unfortunately, cannot invite you to celebrate at the distillery, our latest blog post shares our favourite gin cocktails with less than 5 ingredients required.
The Bramble
Simple to make and well balanced in its sweet and sour tones this cocktail has become a modern classic now frequenting most bar menus.
Shake 50ml The Lakes Gin, 25ml lemon juice and 12.5ml syrup until completely combined and strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Drizzle with a measure of The Lakes Sloe Gin (or Crème de Mure) and garnish with a slice of lemon and a blackberry.
The Gin Martini
A martini perfect for those who prefer a dry martini with strong citrus and juniper notes and hints of oak, spice and wine from the vermouth.
Fill a mixing glass with ice and add 60ml The Lakes Gin and 5ml Noilly Pratt Vermouth. Stir until very cold and strain into a pre-chilled coupette glass. Garnish with a green olive.
The Lakes Pink G&T
Inspired by The Lakes Gin’s signature serve, this gin has juniper-rich flavours with zesty citrus vigour.
Simply serve 50ml of The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin with plenty of ice and Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water for a beautiful G&T. No garnish is required.
The R&R Highball
A vibrant thirst-quencher where zesty rhubarb and aromatic rosehip meet the warm heat of ginger.
Fill a tall glass with ice and add 50ml The Lakes Rhubarb & Rosehip Gin Liqueur, top with Fever-Tree Ginger Ale and garnish with an apple slice.
The Elderflower Fizz
Refreshingly floral and vibrant with a lively, fresh finish.
Shake 50ml The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur, 15ml Lime juice, 20ml Sugar syrup and 6 mint leaves over ice and fine strain into a champagne flute. Top with the sparkling wine and garnish with a mint leaf.
The Bluebird
A beautifully delicate cocktail soon to be your new favourite.
Stir 30ml The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur, 10ml Sugar syrup and 50ml Dry white wine until very cold in a mixing glass. Strain into a pre-chilled coupette glass and garnish with an orange twist.
We would also like to invite you to join us for our first Virtual World Gin Day Festival, which can be watched on our Facebook page from 5pm-7pm on Saturday 13th June.
