Cocktail Recipes for Your Home | The Lakes Distillery Cocktail Recipes for Your Home – The Lakes Distillery

We’ve recently been sharing videos of how to make our favourite cocktails on The Lakes’ social media. We chose them as we wanted to include ingredients which you may already have at home, are easy to get hold of, or have easy substitutes.

We’ve seen how much you’ve loved the cocktails, so here’s a round-up of what we’ve shared so far…

Our top tip before making your cocktail is to chill the glass as this ensures the drink will stay cooler for longer. To do this you can either fill your glass with ice cubes or pop your glass in the fridge ahead of your cocktail making.

The Negroni

25ml The Lakes Gin
25ml Campari
25ml Rosso Vermouth

Add The Lakes Gin, sweet Vermouth and Campari into your tumbler, over the ice and stir.
Twist and zest your orange peel over the glass to add a beautiful aroma, before adding your garnish into your glass.

The Gin & Jam Smash

50ml The Lakes Gin
15ml lemon juice
10ml syrup
1 tsp jam (e.g. blackcurrant, raspberry or strawberry, you can also use a marmalade)
4 berries (ideally the same as your jam, but don’t worry if not)

Into a cocktail shaker, add The Lakes Gin, lemon juice, syrup, jam, berries and ice, and give it a hard shake.
Fine strain into your chosen glass over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge and berries.

The Elderflower & Mint Cooler

25ml The Lakes Gin
25ml The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur
25ml Lemon juice
25ml Dry white wine
Soda water, tonic water, lemonade or any kind of bubbles you have available.
Cucumber ribbon
White sugar
Mint leaves

Prepare a highball glass with a cucumber ribbon wrapped around the inside.
Add The Lakes Gin, The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur, lemon juice, white wine, a tsp white sugar and 4 mint leaves into your highball. Next, add large ice cubes to fill your highball and top with your choice of bubbles.
Churn with a long thin spoon to stir the ingredients, trying to not knock the cucumber ribbon.
Garnish with a lemon wedge and sprig of mint.

The Espresso Martini

50ml Espresso
25ml The Lakes Vodka
15ml coffee liqueur (e.g. Tia Maria, Kahlua, Mr Black)
10ml syrup (e.g. sugar syrup, honey, treacle)

Into a cocktail shaker add fresh espresso, The Lakes Vodka, coffee liqueur and ice and shake vigorously.
Tap and swirl the shaker to create the creamy foam and then strain and serve into a martini glass.
Additionally, add 25ml of The Lakes Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur in a shot glass next to your martini when you serve, this can be a shooter or is delicious drizzled over the martini for added sweetness against the bitter espresso flavour.

The Old Fashioned

60ml The One Signature Blended Whisky
1.5 Tsp Syrup (Maple, honey, sugar or treacle)
3 drops of Angostura Bitters

Into a mixing glass pour The One Signature, syrup, Angostura Bitters and ice.
Stir this for about 30 seconds, ensuring the ingredients have mixed well and are chilled.
Strain into a tumbler glass and garnish with an orange peel.
