Using expressions from The One collection, we’ve collated a selection of our favourite recipes that you can make this weekend from the comfort of your own home.
Whisky is a spirit that should be enjoyed however you please. Most often it is served neat or with ice, but its versatile nature, unique nuances and variations in flavour mean it is also perfect to include when creating new cocktails and serves.
The One whisky collection – singular by name, singular by nature – is our range of fine blended whiskies, however, the collection is not focused on the whisky blend, but rather the role of cask seasoning in flavour elevation. Each release demonstrates the different flavours that can be derived from our oak casks.
The Old Fashioned
- 60ml The One Signature
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 sugar cube
- Orange twist
To make this classic whisky cocktail, simply muddle a sugar cube and a couple of dashes of Angostura Bitters with one teaspoon of water at the bottom of a chilled tumbler. Add 60ml of The One Signature and stir. Next, add one large ice cube, or three or four smaller cubes and stir again until chilled and the sugar is fully diluted. Slip an orange twist on the side of the glass and enjoy.
The Manhattan
- 50ml The One Signature
- 25ml Rosso Vermouth
- 5ml Luxardo
- 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
- Cherry
- Lemon slice
Dating back to the 1800s there are a number of variations of The Manhattan, but when using The One Signature, fill a mixing glass with ice and add all the ingredients. Stir until chilled and strain into a pre-chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a cherry and a slice of lemon.
The Boulevardier
- 20ml The One Signature
- 20ml Sweet Rosso Vermouth
- 20ml Campari
- Pink grapefruit twist
To make a boulevardier, fill a tumbler with cubed ice before adding The One Signature, Sweet Rosso Vermouth, and Campari. Stir well, and garnish with a pink grapefruit twist.
The O’Porto Highball
- 50ml The One Port Cask Finished
- 20ml Apple juice
- Fever-Tree Ginger Ale
The closer we get to summer, the more we admire the highball. Made here with a slight twist, this long and refreshing drink uses The One Port Cask Finished, our blended whisky finished for one year in first-fill tawny port casks from Portugal.
First, fill a tall glass with ice and add The One Port. Usually, you would top with Fever-Tree Soda Water and enjoy, but try adding 20ml of apple juice, stir well and top with Fever-Tree Ginger Ale for a wonderfully refreshing drink.
