Autumn is officially here at the Distillery and last weekend we held our Lakes Autumn Whisky Festival which had a fantastic turn out of people coming from up and the down country to attend the event.
Our Autumn Whisky Festival was one to remember this time around with live music, cocktail demonstrations, alpaca parades and not forgetting about our special guests; a troupe of Border Reivers to celebrate the launch of Steel Bonnets blended malt whisky.
We welcomed the Teviot Dale Border Reivers group at the Distillery who, besides battling as a fearsome clan, were more than happy to take a selfie with everyone there. Later on they even performed a full Border Reivers reenactment in our garden.
It was a momentous event for Founders’ as they came to collect the third year bottle of their 10-year collection which is officially now the Lakes Founders’ Single Malt Whisky. Our COO and co-Founder, Paul Currie and Whiskymaker Dhavall Ghandi were more than happy to sign bottles and take the opportunity to meet our Founders’ community. If you were fortunate enough to be able to visit the Distillery on the day, there was an exclusive Founders opportunity to try the new year 3 whisky where people were certainly impressed – the colour this year has deepened dramatically and has really started to show promise.
And of course, our cocktail master, Kieron Hall, was also on hand to demonstrate how you can use our whiskies to create interesting cocktails at home – from the classic Old Fashioned to newer creations.
Check out the event for yourself and discover the all the photos here.
Our next big Whisky festival falls on our fourth birthday on the 15th December 2018 – book a tour.
