We’ve done it again! We’re delighted to announce that we have won TripExpert’s Expert Choice Award for the second year running.
The accolade places us alongside a selection of outstanding hotels, restaurants and tourists attractions around the world. TripExpert rates and ranks points of interest based on professional reviews from 70+ leading travel publications. The philosophy underlying Experts’ Choice continues to be embraced by travelers and the hospitality industry alike. They take a vibrant new approach to ratings, by using only expert reviews in respected sources. The award is presented on behalf of over 1 million reviews from 85 leading travel guides, magazines and newspapers. In this way, travellers can get a more complete idea of what we offer every day to our visitors. We’ve received the award because these professionals recognize us as one of the best attractions in Lake District.
If you wanted an expert opinion, then you’ve got one right there. Astoundingly, fewer than 2% of attractions worldwide receive the award. As well as the Expert’s Choice, we’ve also received TripExpert’s Best of Lake District award. Reviewers agree that its is among the most worthwhile things to do in Lake District. We’re flying the flag for all things Lakes, and we hope to further place Cumbria on the map in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Here’s some of the comments we received from leading publications…
“Founded on the site of a Victorian model farm, the Lakes Distillery is the brainchild of Paul Currie, who previously ran the award-winning Arran Distillery. The current range includes a gin, a vodka and a blended whisky, made with crystal-clear river water filtered by the Lakeland fells (a key factor in the taste). There’s also a bistro and tasting bar, and behind-the-scenes tours covering the distilling process” The Telegraph
“The first and only distillery in the Lake District, this spirit-maker has made a big splash since opening in 2014. It’s located on a ‘model farm’ built during the 1850s and was founded by a team of master distillers” Lonely Planet
